Ten Palms Exceeds Expectations in Buffet Experience

An unprecedented array of dining and entertainment options awaits guests when they arrive at Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino’s second floor, but the showstopper is Ten Palms.

“Rather than follow a trend, we intend to establish a new benchmark of excellence,” said Kas Willis, Executive Chef of Ten Palms, Serenata and Pearls.
Carving stations with prime rib, turkey breast, steamship pork round, ham, inside round and much more will be featured at Ten Palms. Extensive serving stations will feature salads, stir fry, pastas and luscious desserts. “No one else is doing this in South Florida, and we will be able to satisfy a wide range of tastes with the freshest foods prepared by our expert chefs.”

Prices vary through the week, from $24.99 on weekends to $19.99 on Thursday and Friday and $11.99 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Players Club members are eligible for a $2 discount.

Hours of operation are 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. on weekends.

Chef Willis served as Executive Chef for developer and sportsman Joe DeBartolo. Like Mr. DeBartolo, Chef Willis knows a team concept is critical to success and among his stars is Sous Chef Albert Charles, formerly with celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. This industry veteran has been able to draw the cream of the crop, and he says he is proud to have recruited the best available chefs and service staff to make the operation a success.

“It will be the staff and our service that will be our hallmark and our pillar,” said Chef Willis.

Nearly a thousand diners can be comfortably seated in Ten Palms’ expansive and elegant dining room, decorated with warm rich woods, cheerful bright colors, cozy tables and large windows that capture spectacular views of one of the world’s most renowned thoroughbred racetracks.

Fajitas and other tapas will be on the menu next door at the Latin nightclub Serenata, which will also feature two bars: a mojito bar with a variety of rum drinks, and a larger bar featuring martinis, vodka drinks and an assortment of fine scotches as well as margaritas and other tequila drinks.

Pearls in The Casino is home to a bar and a New York-style deli that will serve traditional favorites such as corned beef and roast beef sandwiches as well as a variety of pizzas, chowders and some innovative touches from Chef Willis. A 13,000-gallon aquarium provides a focal point to the room. Pearls Deli is open 11 a.m. – 2:30 a.m. daily; Pearls bar is open from 11 a.m. – 3 a.m..

Drinks will be served at the Tiki Bar South from noon – 2 a.m. and at the Tiki Bar North from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. Thursday – Saturday.
