STREUfex - The Official Stall Bedding of Gulfstream Park and Palm Meadows

MEC has taken a proactive approach to the equine waste problem by implementing the use of an environmentally friendly bedding called STREUfex.

STREUfex is a stall-bedding alternative to unprocessed straw or wood shavings and is used by all Palm Meadows and Gulfstream Park based horsemen as well as numerous farms and tracks throughout the U.S. and Canada. It is made of top-quality grain straw, but what separates it from conventional straw bedding is the unique process that leads to a safer, more convenient and less expensive product.

Our products are made exclusively from top quality grain straw.  STREUfex is produced in Lumberton, NC, using straw from local farmers.  During the production process, steam temperature reaches 195 degrees, reducing bacteria, yeast, and mold, commonly found in unprocessed straw, to barely measurable amounts.  All dust and small particles are removed before palletized.  The horse's well-being, economy of use, reduced waste disposal, and reuse incentives are only some of the reasons why several legends of the industry are already using STREUfex with great success.

FEX Straw would like to announce a New and Improved STREUfex Mix.

At the conclusion of the 2005-2006 Gulfstream Park meet, FEX Straw began an intensive testing program to improve our product.  Together with leading horsemen around the country, we have formulated an all new STREUfex Mix.

As in the past, our bedding consists of top quality grain straw in pellet form.  The new and improved bedding continues the ultra sterilized, environmentally friendly vision by adding cut straw fibers to the pellets.

Mixing the pellets with cut straw fibers not only allows for the utmost absorption and minimal waste but  also increases aeration and comfort while decreasing airborne particles.

NEW SUGGESTED USAGE:
STREUfex Mix is now packaged in 30-pound bags.
A 12 X 12 stall initially requires eight bags of STREUfex Mix.
For daily maintenance remove manure and wet area only.
Average replacement is 3 bags per week.
It is important NOT to add water to STREUfex Mix.
