Phipps Stable

Ogden Mills "Dinny" Phipps, 68, is the director of Bessemer Trust and Bessemer Securities Corp.

The Phipps family has been involved in racing since the 1920s when Mrs. Henry Carnegie Phipps founded the Wheatley Stable

He is chairman of the Jockey Club and was NYRA chairman from 1976-83. He is still a trustee.

He raced five champions: Smuggler (2005 3-year-old filly) Storm Flag Flying (2002 champion 2yo filly), Inside Information (1995 Older filly or mare), Rhythm (1989 champion 2yo colt) and Successor (1966 champion 2yo colt)

The Phipps family collectively have the most Breeders' Cup wins in history

Ogden Phipps won four Eclipse Awards. Dinny Phipps won an Eclipse Award of Merit in 1978
