A syndicate group managed by Barry Irwin
Irwin graduated from UCLA and was racing journalist with publications such as Daily Racing Form and The Blood-Horse in the 1960s and '70s. Irwin operated Pacifica Thoroughbreds, a bloodstock agency, from 1979-87.
Irwin bought out former partner Jeff Siegel in July 2007. Seigel is a public handicapper with HRTV and several Southern California newspapers.
Team Valor made its first big splash when My Memoirs finished second in the 1992 Belmont Stakes.
Also campaigned classic-placed horses Captain Bodgit (second in the 1997 Kentucky Derby and third in the 1997 Preakness) and Thomas Jo (third in the 1998 Belmont Stakes)
