 Career:

  • Was in the top-5 for the second straight year at Gulfstream in 2007, tying for fourth with 16 wins.

  • Comes off a fifth-place finish in the 2006 Gulfstream season.

  • He is perennially among the leaders across town at Calder and ranks fourth all-time in victories there. He is a member of Calder’s Hall of Fame.

  • His best Gulfstream meet came when second to Bill Mott in the 1997 trainer standings.

  • His biggest star of 2007 was Gottcha Gold, who won the Iselin Handicap and Salvator Mile at Monmouth Park before finishing second in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.

  • Won the inaugural edition of the Sunshine Millions Classic with Best of the Rest, nursing him through multiple injuries to 13 stakes wins and earnings of $1.4 million.

  • Stable star B.B. Best placed in both the Florida Derby and Fountain of Youth Stakes in 2005 and won the Ambehaving Stakes at Calder in 2006.
