The Gulfstream Park Art Festival takes place at The Village at Gulfstream Park, South Florida's newest outdoor shopping and entertainment destination. This beautiful outdoor enclave, located adjacent to the legendary Gulfstream Park Racetrack and Casino on South Federal Highway, boasts a sizzling collection of fashion boutiques, home accessory shops, signature restaurants, outdoor cafes and nightclubs - adding to the art festival experience!
Festival-goers can kick off the day exploring the art festival and enjoying the fine works created and offered by the exhibiting juried artists, including Kimberley Willcox of Gainesville, Florida. Inspired by the human form, Willcox creates original works from reused and repurposed materials. Each piece is unique and thought provoking, offering a unique view of the world and the human spirit. Never restricted to one medium, Willcox's work varies from 3-dimensional sculptures to wall pieces with fluid movement. Her masterpieces come alive with a blend of traditional materials like steel, glass and acrylic combined with unusual resources like tin cans, shredded money, used phone books and other found objects. The result is an extraordinary body of work that tells a story of renewal.
Another must-see for those who enjoy the “finer things in life,” is the fine art jewelry made by husband and wife, Randy and Kitsana Polk from Fountain Hills, Arizona. Fueled by the belief that “life is too short for boring jewelry,” Randy creates exceptional statement pieces that can only be defined as fine art. Though each piece is unique, they all include a blend of contemporary Southwest flair with splashes of color, diamonds and other beautiful gems. Designed for the men and women who refuse to settle for commonplace jewelry, each piece from the Polk’s vast collection exudes beauty, elegance and a distinct personality.
For that empty wall, the Gulfstream Park Art Festival welcomes the world’s finest painters, including Agnes Rathonyi of Ontario. Festival-goers will delight in the vibrant landscapes and enchanting imagery depicted in Agnes’ work. Fascinated by the texture of paint, and the shapes and movements it can make, Agnes allows her work to progress organically – never starting a piece with a preconceived final product. Her intuition and desire to connect with viewers informs the masterpieces distilled images, objects, and surfaces she creates.
From furniture to photography and fine art fashions, ceramics and sculptures – the Gulfstream Park Art Festival offers something for everyone and in every budget!
While enjoying the incredible artwork, guests will be serenaded by the sounds of Cirrus Falcon. A noted band on the Midwest music scene, Cirrus Falcon always entertains with a huge catalog of fan favorites, including classic rock, alternative, acoustic rock, Irish favorites, Jimmy Buffet tunes, country, retro and more. When the band begins, the audience becomes a part of the show, so grab the kids for a dance party while at the festival. Other offerings for the little ones can be found at the Kids Art Tent on-site. Young artists can create their own “equine inspired” masterpieces or simply enjoy a fun, FREE art project at any point throughout the weekend!
With The Taste of Gulfstream Park running in conjunction throughout the weekend, art enthusiasts can enjoy many of the Village at Gulfstream Park’s celebrated restaurants, including III Forks, Cantina Loredo and Texas de Brazil, without ever leaving the show. In addition to the great dining options, on-site bars will be serving up spirits all weekend long! Guests can also take an art fest shopping break at one of The Village at Gulfstream Park’s other culinary experiences from around the world! Enjoy Italian delights at Brio Tuscan Grille, celebrate the art of sushi at Blu Sushi, or indulge in the wood-fired specialty pizzas at American Pie Brick Oven Pizza.
Though the festival ends at 5:00 PM, the fun continues into the evening! Many of the Village at Gulfstream Park’s signature shops, including Blu Ice, Gabriel & Ko. Boutique, Roxtar Couture and Barker Animation Art Gallery, the largest animation art gallery on the planet, will be open after the festival closes.
After a day of perusing and purchasing art and enjoying the signatures shops and galleries at The Village at Gulfstream Park, art enthusiasts can stay for the premiere of Symphony in Lights, which opens on Saturday, November 10 at dusk. This highly-anticipated event attracts thousands of visitors annually and will launch this year after the inaugural Gulfstream Park Art Festival, produced by Amdur Productions.
