Career: Spent his first full winter at Gulfstream in 2012-2013 and finished among the top 12 riders in wins and money earned. He finished fourth during the spring meet at Churchill Downs with 41 wins and $1.4 in earnings and sixth in earnings during the Kentucky Downs meet. 
 
Lanerie made a favorable impression on only seven mounts during the 2011-12 Gulfstream meeting, winning two races, including the Marshua’s River (G3) aboard Heavenly Landing. 
 
He has steadily established himself as a force while riding in Kentucky and Louisiana the past several year and captured the 2012 spring meeting at Churchill Downs with 71 winners, including six victories from seven mounts on May 27.  
 
He followed up by tying for the title at Ellis Park with Brian Hernandez with 25 wins, despite riding 35 fewer horses. Lanerie won the 2010 Ellis title. 
 
He won four titles at Lone Star Park in 1999-2003. He also won titles at Sam Houston and Retama in Texas before moving on to the Kentucky-Louisiana circuit in 2005. 
 
He scored his first Grade 1 victory aboard Hooh Why in the 2009 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland.
 
He enjoyed much success with Posse, whom he rode to four stakes victories, including the Riva Ridge (G2) on the 2003 Belmont Stakes undercard.
 
Other: Lanerie was always around horses growing up and rode at Louisiana bush tracks before launching his professional career in 1991. He won his first race aboard High Hopes Banquet at Evangeline Downs on April 19,1991.
