Career: Lezcano ranked in the top five during Gulfstream's 2012-2013 meet in wins (62) and earnings ($2.3 million). He was triumphant in the Sunshine Millions Classic aboard Ron the Greek, whom he also rode to victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) later in the year. Lezcano's also won the Appleton (G2) with Za Approval and the Gulfstream Sprint Championship (G3) with Fort Loudon. He also finished in the top five during Belmont's spring meet and at Saratoga. Won the Maker's 46 Mile (G1) and Turf Classic (G1) aboard Horse of the Year Wise Dan.
 
Lezcano also ranked in the top five in wins and purses during the 2011-12 Gulfstream meeting and rode three stakes winners: Sabrina’s Dance (Madcap Escapade), Race to Urga (Wait a While) and Snow Top Mountain (Grade 3 Suwannee River). He scored a Grade 1 victories that year at Belmont in the Man o’ War aboard Point of Entry. He finished fifth in victories and sixth in earnings during the 2011 Gulfstream meeting. In 2009, he captured the Gulfstream title with 71 trips to the winner’s circle. In 2010, he finished second in purse earnings at Gulfstream, where he rode Ice Box for a stretch-running victory in the Florida Derby (G1) before finishing second in the Kentucky Derby. In 2011, Lezcano won the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (G1), Alabama (G1) and Black-Eyed Susan (G2) aboard Royal Delta.  
 
He got his U.S. career started at Gulfstream in 2003 and five years later finished third in the standings. He won championships at Tampa Bay Downs and the Meadowlands. He was the first jockey other than Joe Bravo to win the title at the Meadowlands in five years. He took the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in 2008 aboard Maram.
 
Other: Yet another talented graduate of the Laffit Pincay Jockey School in Panama, he rode for two years there before coming to the U.S.
