Career: Finished in the top 10 at Gulfstream last winter in wins and money won. Was the regular rider last year of Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner Caleb’s Posse, who also won the Kings Bishop (G1), Ohio Derby (G3) and Amsterdam (G2). Also rode Tizway to victories in the Whitney (G1) and Metropolitan (G1). He won the Risen Star (G2) aboard Mucho Macho Man, who he would finish third aboard in the Kentucky Derby (G1). Other graded winners included Currency Swap, Adios Charlie, Fantasia, Birdrun and Giants Play. He finished fourth in money won and fifth in wins over the summer at Saratoga. Maragh won the 2010 Louisiana Derby aboard Mission Impazible. He reached the 1,000 win mark in February of 2010. He rode his first winner at Tampa Bay Downs in 2004. Maragh arrived in the U.S. at the age of 13 and began working at farms in Florida and galloped horses for his father, a jockey in Jamaica.
