• Racing stable of Bobby Hurley, 37, born and raised in Jersey City, N.J. best known as a college and pro basketball player
• Played college ball at Duke University from 1989-1993, during which time he became the NCAA all-time assist leader and led the Blue Devils to a national championship.
• Was selected by the Sacramento Kings as the seventh pick in the 1993 NBA Draft but a serious automobile accident later that year threatened his career. He bounced back and completed five seasons in the NBA before retiring, although never at the same level as college
• Started owning horses in 1998, and struck gold almost immediately with Songandaprayer, who won the 2001 Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park and raced in the Kentucky Derby.
• Raced Shooter, who won the Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park in 2000 and Praying for Cash, who won the 2006 Long Branch and finished second in the Haskell after wintering at Gulfstream
