• Ogden Mills “Dinny” Phipps, 68, is the director of Bessemer Trust and Bessemer Securities Corp.
• The Phipps family has been involved in racing since the 1920s when Mrs. Henry Carnegie Phipps founded the Wheatley Stable
• He is chairman of the Jockey Club and was NYRA chairman from 1976-83. He is still a trustee.
• He raced five champions: Smuggler (2005 3-year-old filly) Storm Flag Flying (2002 champion 2yo filly), Inside Information (1995 Older filly or mare), Rhythm (1989 champion 2yo colt) and Successor (1966 champion 2yo colt)
• The Phipps family collectively have the most Breeders' Cup wins in history
• Phipps Stable under Ogden Phipps bred and raced champions Buckpasser, Easy Goer, Private Account, and Personal Ensign
• Ogden Phipps won four Eclipse Awards. Dinny Phipps won an Eclipse Award of Merit in 1978
