Starlight Racing is a partnership between Jack and Laurie Wolf of Louisville, Ky. and Staratoga Springs, N.Y. and Upstate N.Y. developer Donald Lucarelli.
  • Jack Wolf, who earned his masters at Murray State, is a retired hedge fund manager. …Starlight Racing owned 2012 juvenile champion Shanghai Bobby, the winner of the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and Champagne Stakes winner. …Starlight’s Algorithms captured the Holy Bull (G3) and Thunder Moccasin won the Hutcheson (G2) at Gulfstream last season.
  • The Wolfs, who named the stable after a street in Atlanta they lived of became horse owners in 2000. …They campaigned Harlan’s Holiday, the winner of the 2002 Florida Derby (G1) and 2003 Donn Handicap (G1) who finished seventh in the 2002 Kentucky Derby. 
  • They also were in a partnership that owned champion Ashado, who captured the 2004 Kentucky Oaks and Breeders’ Cup Distaff before being sold for $9 million to Sheikh Mohammed.
  • Starlight Racing were partners in Hilda’s Passion, who won the 2010 Inside Information (G2) and the Hurricane Bertie (G2) at Gulfstream before capturing the Ballerina (G1) at Saratoga. …Other stakes stars campaigned by Starlight include 2008 Blue Grass stakes winner Monba, 2005 Cigar Mile (G1) winner Purge, 2006 Hutcheson (G2) winner Keyed Entry, and 2007 Mother Goose (G1) and Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) winner Octave.
