Stronach Stables

• Frank Stronach is the chairman of Magna International and its subsidiaries, including Magna Entertainment, which owns Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, the Maryland Jockey Club and nine other properties.
• He was born in Austria in 1932, immigrated to Canada in 1954, worked as a machinist and eventu-ally grew his company into one of the largest auto parts manufacturers in the world.
• Daughter Belinda was a member of the Canadian parliament
• Purchased a riding horse in 1962 and a $700 claimer in the early 1960s
• Won the 2000 Preakness Stakes with homebred Red Bullet, the 1998 Breeders' Cup Classic with homebred Awesome Again, the 2004 Classic with Horse of the Year Ghostzapper and 2007 Ladies Classic winner Ginger Punch
• Leading owner by money won in 1998, '99 and '00. Ranked fourth in 2001, second in ‘02 and '03, third in ‘04 and fourth in ‘05. He was the leading individual owner as of November 2008
• Breeding operation, Adena Springs, has farms in Kentucky, Florida and Canada and is named for the native American tribe who first inhabited the Kentucky property. Entire operation handles nearly 20 stallions, hundreds of broodmares and the racing stable has almost 250 horses in training
