Career:  During the 2012-2013 Gulfstream meeting, Clement saddled a pair of stakes winners: Za Approval in the Appleton (G3) and Varsity in the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint. Za Approval went on to finish second in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1).  Elsewhere in 2013, he finished 10th at Saratoga and sixth at the Belmont spring meeting in purses-won.
He scored a pair of stakes victories during the 2011-12 Gulfstream Park meeting in the Dania Beach with Summer Front and the Wait a While with Race to Urga.  Clement went on to finish second in wins and third in earnings at the 2012 Belmont Park spring meeting, during which he saddled Summer Front for a victory in the Hill Prince (G3) and Mysterious Star for a New York Handicap (G2) score. 
Gio Ponti is generally regarded as the best horse he has campaigned.  Gio Ponti, who earned $6.1 million in purses, won six Grade1 stakes on turf and finished second behind Zenyatta in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Clement’s has 17 victories in Gulfstream’s stakes for females on grass, including four wins in the Suwannee River and six wins in the Orchid Handicap. He is also a three-time winner of South Florida’s top turf race for males, the Gulfstream Park Turf. 
He sent out Proud Man to win 2004 Sunshine Millions Turf.
Other: He is the son of successful European trainer Miguel and brother of Nicolas Clement, who saddled Saumerez to capture the 1990 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. 
He apprenticed under Luca Cumani and Alec Head in Europe and Shug McGaughey in the U.S. before starting his own stable in 1991. He won with the first horse he saddled, Spectaculaire, at Belmont Park on Oct. 20, 1991.
