Career: Tied for third in the trainer standings last winter with 19 winners, including Eclipse Award winner Big Drama’s track record in the Mr. Prospector (G3). He saddled Duke of Mischief to victory in the Charles Town Classic (G3) after starting his season with a second-place finish in the Sunshine Million Classic, and saddled Apriority to a second-place finish in the Churchill Downs Sprint (G2). Calder-based conditioner saddled Big Drama to victory last year in Smile Sprint and second-place finishes at Saratoga last summer in the Grade I Vanderbilt and Forego. The colt also won the Delta Jackpot in 2008. Fawkes also trains Little Drama, who won the Frank Gomez last summer. Another top horse has been Forty One Carats, winner of the 1999 Indiana Derby and Pegasus Handicap and who set a track record when winning Calder’s Smile Sprint. Finished third in the 2010 Calder training standings.
