Career: Motion was experienced another career moment in 2013, when his 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom captured the $10 million Dubai World Cup.
 
During the 2012-13 Gulfstream meeting, Motion notched stakes victories with Tuttipaesi in the Ginger Brew and Kitten’s Point in the Herecomesthebride (G3). He also saddled Animal Kingdom for a second-place finish behind Point of Entry in the Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (G1) in preparation for the Dubai World Cup.
 
He tied for ninth in wins and ranked sixth in purse earnings during the 2011-12 meeting. He notched a pair of stakes victories with Howe Great, in the Kitten’s Joy and the Palm Beach (G3). He also saddled Animal Kingdom for a turf allowance score in February before finishing second in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1). Animal Kingdom wintered at Palm Meadows Training Center for the 2010-2011 season and finished second in a turf allowance at Gulfstream before earning a trip to Churchill Downs with a triumph in the Spiral Stakes (G3) at Turfway. The son of Leroidesanimaux went on to finish second in the Preakness. 
 
Motion’s first major stakes victory came with Better Talk Now, who captured the 2004 Breeders’ Cup Turf. He won his second Breeders’ Cup event with Shared Account in the Filly & Mare Turf.
 
His stable is based at Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland.
 
Other: Motion moved to the U.S. at age 16. His father was a bloodstock agent and his mother was an amateur jockey and assistant trainer. Motion worked for Jonathan Sheppard from 1985-90. He saddled his first winner at Laurel Park in 1993 and earned his 1,000th victory at the same track in November, 2006. His first Grade I win came in the 2003 Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup at Keeneland with Film Maker.
