Career: Wolfson ranked fifth in purse earnings at the 2012-13 Gulfstream meeting, during which he experienced stakes successes with Starship Truffles (Glass Slipper), Indiano (Grade 3 Mr. Prospector) and Golden Mystery (Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Sprint and Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie). He saddled Starship Truffles for a Grade 1 victory in the Princess Rooney at Calder before she sold at auction for $1 million.
In 2011, he claimed Ask the Moon for $75,000 and went on to win the Ruffian (G1) and Personal Ensign (G1). Saddled Indiano to a thirdplace finish in Gulfstream’s Swale (G2) before going on to win three stakes races. Perennial leading trainer in South Florida who has gained national reputation for ability to win major stakes races around the country.
Finished 2010 Gulfstream meet second in earnings behind Todd Pletcher with horses who finished in the money 66 percent of the time.
Won 2010 Gulfstream Park Handicap with You And I Forever, Orchid with Speak Easy Gal and Ocala with Jessica Is Back, who went on to win Princess Rooney and finish third in Ballerina.
Wife Karla is assistant trainer and integral part of stable’s operation.
Has trained more than 1,350 winners and his starters have earned nearly $40.5 million in purses.
He won Breeders’ Cup Mile in 2006 with Miesque’s Approval.
His major graded stakes winners have included The Vid, Forever Whirl and Chaposa Springs.
Other: Spent much of his youth visiting his father’s (Louis Wolfson) Harbor View Farm, where Triple Crown winner Affirmed was bred.
Took out his trainer’s license at age 18 and has trained for Harbor View, Fred Hooper, Farnsworth Stables and Team Valor.
