Pick 5 Pays $30,188; Super Hi-5 Pays $8,581
Mandatory Payouts Scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Multiple ticketholders took advantage of a mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover pool Sunday at Gulfstream Park, each cashing for $30,929.94.
The winning combination was 6-3-8-2-3-9 for the lucrative six-race sequence.
The Rainbow 6 carryover heading into Sunday’s mandatory payout was $383,473.91 after the innovative jackpot wager went unsolved for the 24th consecutive program since May 22, when a mandatory payout of a $1.09 million pool was held. Sunday, a total of $1,098,297 was bet into the Rainbow 6, which spanned Races 5-10.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
When there is a mandatory Rainbow 6 payout, a bettor doesn’t necessarily have to hold a unique ticket with all six winners to grab a share of the mandatory carryover pool. Instead, all bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence share in the entire pool that day.
Mandatory payouts of the Rainbow 6, Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 pools are scheduled for both Tuesday and Wednesday on this week’s racing schedule, which will include ‘dark’ days on Monday and Thursday. There will be no carryovers heading into the Rainbow 6 wagering either Tuesday or Wednesday.
There were also mandatory payouts of the Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 pools Sunday. The Pick 5 produced a $30,188.60 payoff for five winners, while the Super Hi-5 returned $8,581.40 for a ticket with the correct order of finish of the first five horses in Race 10.
