HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Apprentice jockey Tyler Gaffalione is scheduled to compete in nine races on Sunday’s 10-race program at Gulfstream Park.
The 20-year-old rider, who was involved in a spill during training hours at Gulfstream Park West Friday morning, rode one race on Friday before taking off his remaining mounts. He did not ride on Saturday.
Gaffalione, the son of former South Florida jockey Steve Gaffalione, was the leading rider during the recently concluded spring meet at Gulfstream with 69 trips to the winner’s circle.
Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Stands at $90,428
The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the sixth consecutive racing day at Gulfstream Saturday, producing a carryover jackpot pool of $90,428.71 for Sunday’s program.
No one held a ticket with all six winners during the six-race sequence that started Race 6. Multiple tickets with five of six winners were each worth $4,148.26.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
There will also be a Super Hi-5 Carryover of $5,243.71 for Sunday’s last race.
