Thursday’s Rainbow 6 Offers $898,218 Carryover Jackpot

Jun 15, 2017
Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout Scheduled for Saturday

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 will offer a carryover jackpot of $898,218 Thursday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for 32 consecutive programs.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket sold, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9.
In Race 4, a maiden special weight for 3-year-olds and up at 7 ½ furlongs on turf, Todd Pletcher-trained Editorial is scheduled to take on 10 rivals. Derrick Smith, Mrs. John Magnier and Michael Tabor’s 3-year-old son of War Front is coming off an impressive debut over the Gulfstream turf course April 29, when he swung seven-wide on the turn into the homestretch before losing a photo finish by a head. Tyler Gaffalione has the mount.

An entry-level optional claiming allowance for state-bred 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/16 miles on turf in Race 7, General McGooby, a multiple stakes-placed son of Crown of Thorns, is set to face seven opponents, including speedy Charlie Mops. The Lillian Kurtinecz-trained General McGooby finished second in the English Channel at Gulfstream May 6 after being the runner-up in the Sophomore Turf at Tampa Bay Downs April 2. Jilver Chamafi has the mount.
Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout Scheduled for Saturday

A mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 carryover pool at Gulfstream Park is scheduled for Saturday.

On mandatory payout days, a single unique ticket with all six winners is not required to take down or share in the carryover jackpot. The entire Rainbow 6 pool is paid out to the holders of tickets with the most winners.

Mandatory payouts are also scheduled for the Late Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 next Saturday.
