A $250,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase, Cairo Prince began his career for the partnership of Namcook, Clarke, Robertson and Braverman. After the colt's romp in the Miller Lite Holy Bull, a majority interest in the 3-year-old was sold for an undisclosed sum to Godolphin, which was formed by the Maktoum family in the 1990s to showcase their best runners. The entity won its first Breeders' Cup race in 1999 when Daylami scored in the Turf. Since that time, Godolphin has won additional Breeders' Cup events with Tempera, Fantastic Light and Vale of York. Godolphin has twice won the Eclipse Award for leading owner, in 2009 and 2012, and their runners in the latter year included champion 3-year-old filly Questing. Harvey Clarke raced 2011 Fountain of Youth (G2) winner Soldat in partnership with Robertson, Braverman and the Namcook Stables of Terry Murray and Jack Conley. Clarke, president of the New York-based A.J. Clarke Real Estate Corp., also bred I'll Have Another, winner of the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness (G1) in 2012. Robertson is an attorney in Lexington, Ky., while Braverman is a director of the Courier Corp. Braverman also owned Mywifenosevrything, a filly whose victory over Thewifedoesntknow went viral in 2010.
