Yara Posts 60-to-1 Upset Over Grace Hall in Davona Dale

Peras International’s Yara went into Saturday’s $250,000 Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream Park unheralded after winning two of five starts in sprints, the first four at Calder last year. But the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly won a long head-to-head duel with Michael Dubb and partners’ 4-5 favorite Grace Hall in the stretch to score by hard-fought triumph by a neck in the 1 1/16-mile test.

Here to Win and Bravo Charge to Victory in The Very One

Trick or Treat International’s Here to Win, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin and ridden perfectly by jockey Joe Bravo, held off the multiple-stakes winner Keertana down the stretch to win the $100,000 The Very One (G3) by a length. Woodford Belle was third while Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) winner Perfect Shirl checked in eighth.
