Dynamic Holiday Surges To Herecomesthebride Victory

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Dynamic Holiday won her fourth straight victory over four different racetracks in Sunday’s $150,000 Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park.
The Graham Motion-trained 3-year-old filly, who had won at Keeneland, Calder and Tampa Bay Downs in her three previous starts, received a dream trip under Ramon Dominguez to win her first graded stakes after previously collecting the ungraded Florida Oaks and Tropical Park Oaks.
“I think that was her best race yet and she’s run some good ones,” said David Rock, assistant trainer to Motion, who viewed the 1-1/8-mile turf race at his Fair Hill, Md headquarters.
Dynamic Holiday ($10.20) settled off the pace in mid-pack while saving ground along the inside as War Prospector and showed the way into the backstretch, where she was challenged by Excited. Dynamic Holiday advanced along the inside on the turn and into the homestretch before being swung to the outside for the drive. The daughter of Harlan’s Holiday quickly accelerated and surged to the wire to finish two lengths clear of runner-up Mystical Star and jockey Joe Bravo. Excited held third under John Velazquez, another 1-1/4 lengths back.
“Our trip was perfect. I was hoping she was going to put herself into contention because it seems like you have to be pretty close to the pace on the turf right now,” said Dominguez, the 2010 Eclipse Award-winning jockey. “Everything worked out perfectly. There was enough speed to set up her run and she was good again today. Her last few races, she’s really gotten good.”
Dynamic Holiday, who earned $90,000 for her efforts, ran 1-1/8-miles in 1:46 3/5.
“She’s been very reliable except for the one race (7th at Belmont Park on Sept. 19). We never could find a reason for that. She just threw in a bad one,” Rock said. “The plan has been that after this race she would get a break, probably until summer.”
