Florida Derby - Schedule Of Events

03/27/2011

 Welcome to Florida Derby Weekend.

Beginning Tuesday, with the first annual Florida Derby Golf Tournament, Gulfstream Park will play host to a number of events that culminate with the 60th running April 3 of the $1 million Florida Derby.

Few if any races have had the impact on the sport’s Triple Crown as Gulfstream’s signature Grade I event. Many of racing’s greatest stars have competed in the 1 1/8th mile Florida Derby, including Barbaro, Spectacular Bid, Northern Dancer, Swale, Holy Bull and Tim Tam. In the first 59 years, 39 runners have gone on to win a remarkable 54 Triple Crown events.

This year, Derby Weekend will also include Ladies Day on April 2.

So whether it’s wagering on the world’s greatest thoroughbreds and jockeys – watching ‘The Road To The Florida Derby’ television special, enjoying our giveaways, hat contest, Saturday morning breakfast or helping to raise awareness and funds for Susan G. Komen For The Cure – Gulfstream Park will be the center of the racing world and the place to be in South Florida.

It’s all here.
