Gulfstream Announces Purse Increase for Month of July


Purses will be boosted by $4,000 each for July 1- July 28


HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Gulfstream Park announced today a substantial purse increase for the month of July during its historic summer meeting.  Purses listed in the first condition book, covering July 1 – July 28, will receive a $4,000 per-race boost.

Under the new increase, the purse for a $7,500 claiming race scheduled for July 1 will be boosted from $13,000 to $17,000. The feature race, an optional claiming allowance, will be offered for $36,000 instead of $32,000.

Live Thoroughbred racing will resume at Gulfstream Park on Tuesday with an eight-race program that will officially conclude the 2012-2013 season. Gulfstream’s first summer meeting in its history will begin on July 1 and will also include a special Fourth of July program. Thereafter, racing will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays.
