Gulfstream Derby Party: $500 Betting Vouchers And More

 HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park, home of Florida’s most luxurious and customer-friendly simulcast center, is ready for this weekend’s Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1) with the biggest giveaway in town.

Simply fill out an entry form in the Silks Simulcast Room from any program or Daily Racing Form and you will automatically be entered in a drawing for one of 10 $500 betting vouchers on the Kentucky Derby.

Gulfstream’s festivities will also include a $35 buffet at its signature restaurant Ten Palms and a free souvenir glass for anyone purchasing a $5 Mint Julep. For reservations in Ten Palms, call 954.455.6760.

Silks, Florida's premier simulcast room, will open 9:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday First race post time for Oaks and Derby day at Churchill Downs will be 10:30 a.m. 

Saturday’s 20-horse Derby field will feature nine horses that raced and/or wintered at Gulfstream or its Palm Meadows training facility. Leading the way will be Kentucky Derby favorite and $1 million Florida Derby (G1) winner Dialed In. The Nick Zito-trained colt, who also won Gulfstream’s Holy Bull (G3), wintered at Palm Meadows, home of four of the last five Kentucky Derby winners and five of the last eight.

Other Gulfstream and Palm Meadows alumni in the Derby include Florida Derby runnerup Shackleford, Fountain of Youth (G2) winner Soldat, Timely Writer winner and juvenile champion Uncle Mo, Gotham (G3) winner Stay Thirsty, Risen Star (G3) winner Mucho Macho Man, Blue Grass (G1) winner Brilliant Speed and Louisiana Derby (G2) winner Pants On Fire and Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes (G3) winner Animal Kingdom.
