Gulfstream To Host Relay For Life April 26-27
Gulfstream Park will be the local site of The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life beginning Friday, April 26 and ending Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. with the Closing Ceremony.
Relay For Life includes organized, overnight community fundraising walks, food, games and activities to build camaraderie, and a family-friendly environment for the entire family. Teams will be able to camp out around the Gulfstream track.
Each year more than four million people in over 20 countries take part in Relay For Life to raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. During the Relay event, participants and survivors celebrate what they've overcome during the Survivor's Lap. During the Luminaria Ceremony, participants remember those lost to cancer and honor those who have fought and are fighting cancer. The Fight Back Ceremony inspires Relay participants to take tangible action against a disease that has taken too much.
Through Monday, 26 teams and 77 participants had raised more than $17,000.
