Stonestreet Stable's Atreides Impressive In Debut

Atreides, a 3-year-old son of Medaglia d'Oro and half-brother to Dreaming of Julia, who won the 2013 Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) by 21 3/4 lengths, left quite an impression Saturday when breaking his maiden at first asking.

"To be honest, that's one of the best horses I've ever ridden," said jockey Edgard Zayas, who was carried to a 5 1/4 length victory by Atreides in 1:08.69.  "That's a really classy horse."

Owned by Stonestreet Stable and trained by Marty Wolfson, Atreides, won for fun after going by the pacesetter and runner-up Back to Seattle entering the stretch. Atreides is out of Dream Rush, who won the Prioress (G1), Test (G1), and was second in the Acorn (G1).

Who's Hot: Jockey Edgard Zayas, who rode two winners Friday, rode two more Saturday, visiting the winner's circle aboard Atreidesand Like a Queen ($7.60).
