Rainbow 6 Offers $150,000 Jackpot Guarantee for Friday’s Card
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot guarantee has been increased to $150,000 for Friday’s nine-race card.
The popular multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday, when the jackpot would have been broken had fifth-place finisher Daring David (No. 9) come through for one bettor in the last race. When No. 14 Straight Bite won the nightcap, there were multiple tickets with all of the winners in the six-race sequence. The winning combination of 1-5-7-2-3-14 paid $2831.74.
The Rainbow 6 requires a bettor to hold the only ticket with the winners of the last six races on a program in order to win the carryover jackpot. If there are multiple tickets sold with all six winners or no one has a ticket with six winners, 70 percent of that day’s pool is disbursed to those holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the next program.
Leading rider Edgard Zayas, who was unseated by his victorious mount following Sunday’s last race, took off his mounts Thursday due to neck and back soreness. The 21-year-old jockey is named on six horses on Friday’s card.
Who’s Hot: Jockey Ramsey Zimmerman scored three victories, taking both ends of the early double with Valid Concept ($4) in the first and Congrats Honey ($11.20) in the second, before prevailing aboard Colonel Gian ($3.40) in the seventh.
Jose Valdivia Jr. doubled with victories aboard Risk Factor ($6) in the fourth and Straight Bite ($13.80) in the ninth.
