Gabriel Saez Rides Three Winners on Spring/Summer Opener
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-Cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved on Friday, the first racing day of Gulfstream’s Spring/Summer Meet, producing a carryover jackpot of $4,943,868.76 heading into Saturday’s program.
The Rainbow 6, which requires a bettor to hold the only ticket with the winners of the last six races in order to claim the jackpot, had created excitement throughout the Champions Meet as the carryover pool continued to grow since Jan. 10. The buzz created by the chance to win a life-changing payoff carried over to Friday, when $381,660 was wagered on the popular multi-race wager.
Multiple ticketholders with the 3-3-9-7-8-2 combination each cashed for $2,638.84 Friday.
The Spring/Summer stakes schedule kicks off Saturday with the running of the $75,000 Hollywood Beach Stakes, a six-furlong dash for fillies and mares carded as the eighth race on a nine-race program.
