Rainbow 6 Lives Another Day at $5.9 Million
Pick 5 Carryover $22,000
Zayas Rides Three Winners
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - The Rainbow 6 will have a carryover Saturday afternoon of $5.95 million when racing resumes at Gulfstream Park.
While the 20-cent wager hasn't been hit since Jan. 10, there were two live tickets going into the last race Friday with the longshots Perfect Polar and Catduel. But Perfect Polar was left at the gate and finished eighth while Catduel was never a factor and finished sixth.
Those with six winners Friday and the winning numbers 3-6-9-6-1-2 received $20,510.96.
Nobody had all five winners in Friday's 50-cent Pick 5 which means there will be a carryover Saturday of $22,930.
Saturday's first race post is 1:25 p.m. Gulfstream's feature races will be the $75,000 Honey Ryder and $75,000 Big Drama.
Zayas Wins Four, Zimmerman Two
Edgard Zayas won three of the first four races Saturday. Zayas won the first with C D Gold ($3.60), the third with Dustymour ($5.80) and the fourth with Sydney Rules ($2.80). Zayas won three races twice last year at Gulfstream and rode four winners on September 8.
Ramsey Zimmerman brought home a couple prices with La Hija de Olga ($14.20) in the fifth and Do the Roar ($29.60) in the sixth. Apprentice jockey Jean Vallellanes won his first race at Gulfstream, winning the seventh aboard the 12-1 shot Ray's Back ($26.20).
