Trujillo Headed to California; Prado Returns; Rainbow 6 Hits $6 Million

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Jockey Elvis Trujillo, who had decided to spend the summer riding at Gulfstream to be closer to his family, will now be leaving after next weekend to ride the summer in California.

Trujillo said he will be represented by agent Tom Knust and will ride for Doug O'Neill.

"I was going to stay here, but this came up and I think it's an opportunity I can't pass up," said Trujillo, who is currently third in the riding standings and was a top 10 rider during the Championship Meet. "They're going to give me a chance out there and I think it's the right thing to do."

Trujillo said he will ride Sunday and next weekend at Gulfstream before heading to California with his family. The Panama native rode two winners Saturday, Dad'z Laugh in the $75,000 Big Drama and World Changer ($11) in the third race.

Prado Returns to the Saddle

Prado finished second in the $75,000 Honey Ryder aboard Marnesia Wild Heir and second in the Big Drama aboard Risk Factor.

"It was beautiful being back," Prado said. "My horses ran really good. I would have liked to have come back with a win, but I'm blessed to be healthy and riding again."

Prado is named to ride Sunday at Gulfstream before he returns to New York.
