Mandatory Payout of Rainbow 6 returns $1,058.22 to Multiple Ticketholders
Popular Multi-Race Wager Starts Anew on Tuesday’s Special Live Card
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of Gulfstream Park’s 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover pool yielded a payoff of $1,058.22 to multiple ticketholders Sunday.
With a one-day carryover heading into Sunday’s eighth-race card, a total of $141,659 was wagered on the Rainbow 6. The winning combination of 5-2-5-3-9-2 was produced by Toh’s Grey Cat ($4), Street Rage ($11.60), Gudelia ($12.80), Golden Jason ($9.80), Shot Girl ($6.80) and Pekinesa ($5), respectively, in the multi-race wager that spanned the third through eighth races.
The Rainbow 6, which was solved by a Palm Beach bettor for $6.6 million on May 25, produced back-to-back jackpot payoffs last week, including a $219,761.86 windfall last Sunday and a $40,000 payday on Friday.
Except when there is a mandatory payoff, the Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out only when there is a single ticket sold with all six winners in the multi-race wager’s sequence. When there is a mandatory payoff, the ticketholders with the most winners share in the entire pool if there isn’t a unique ticket.
The Rainbow 6 will start anew at Gulfstream Park on Tuesday, when a special eight-race live card will be conducted. Post time for the first race will be 1:25 p.m. The six-race Rainbow 6 sequence will start on the third race.
Who's Hot: Jockey Ramsey Zimmerman rode both ends of the late double, scoring aboard Shot Girl in the seventh and Pekinesa in the eighth.
