Hansen looks to make lasting impression in Blue Grass Stakes

For a horse coming off an Eclipse Award-winning campaign as a two-year-old, many are pointing at the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes on Saturday at Keeneland Race Course as a race Hansen needs to win to cement himself as a truly legitimate contender for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1).
The Tapit colt will be among a field of 13 in the marquee race of Keeneland’s spring meet, going 1 1/8 miles on the track’s synthetic Polytrack surface.
Hansen has continued to run well into his three-year-old year, finishing second to Algorithms after a troubled trip in the Holy Bull Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park, then drawing clear to win by three lengths in the Gotham Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct. Read More
