Life At Ten Returns In Sunday Allowance

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Trainer Todd Pletcher had indicated that DeBartolo Stable’s 6-year-old mare Life At Ten might make her season debut in next weekend’s Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) at Oaklawn Park, but has found another option closer to her winter home at Palm Meadows, entered in Sunday’s $80,100 optional/allowance feature at Gulfstream Park.
Jockey John R. Velazquez will be in New York Saturday to ride Repole Stable’s Uncle Mo as the odds-on favorite in the Wood Memorial (G1) at Aqueduct, but returns Sunday for the mount on Life At Ten as she makes her first start since the Breeders’ Cup in the one-mile test, facing six rivals.
Life At Ten sets out on another campaign after ending the 2010 season on a sour note when eased in the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5. The chestnut daughter of Malibu Moon went into the Breeders’ Cup as one of the choices at odds of less than 4-to-1 after winning the Beldame Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park in her previous start over Unrivaled Belle, who went on to win the Ladies’ Classic.
Completing the field for Sunday’s feature are Belle Watling Syndicate’s Belle Watling, Luis Duco Stable’s Glotona, Alberto Acosta’s The Isabella Angel, Rose Family Stable’s Joanie’s Catch, Pinnacle Racing’s Musical Romance and Farnsworth Stables’ Jehan.
