Mandatory Payout of 20-Cent Rainbow 6 Pool returns $1,364.60
Friday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Pool Guaranteed for $50,000

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL –A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow Six pool was scheduled for Tuesday’s special July 1st program, on which form held well for handicappers right up until the final race.

Veteran jockey Francisco Maysonett broke a string of bad luck in Gulfstream’s eighth race, riding his first winner of 2014 while guiding 43-1 longshot Senor Habanero to a front-running upset. The $88-to-win shocker produced a $1,364.60 payoff to multiple bettors with all of the winners in the six-race sequence of the popular multi-race wager.

The first five winners were easy enough to handicap. Morning Brew ($4) won the third, followed by Bea Wildcat ($6.40) in the fourth, Timark ($6) in the fifth, Lucasta ($3.80) in the sixth and Dreamingofauntdiane ($3.40) in the seventh.

The Rainbow 6 will start anew when live racing resumes Friday with the carryover pool guaranteed for $50,000 should a unique ticket be sold. The carryover jackpot can only be won if there is only one bettor holding a ticket with the winners of the day's final six races.

The Friday program kicks off the Fourth of July Weekend at Gulfstream, where five $75,000 stakes will be run on Saturday’s program.
