Rule Ready To Move Forward In Donn

After being away from the races for nearly 10 months, Rule returned to the races on January 8 with renewed enthusiasm, finishing a solid second behind impressive winner Soaring Empire in the Hal’s Hope (G3) at Gulfstream Park.
The 4-year-old son of Roman Ruler, who was turned out last spring when Todd Pletcher found something lacking in his training, seems poised to become the racehorse everyone expected him to be at Gulfstream Park last winter.

Mitaab bin Abdullah‘s 4-year-old Fly Down was last seen under colors finishing third behind Blame and Zenyatta in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs on Nov. 6 despite a rough trip. The colt sets off on another campaign in Saturday’s $500,000 Donn Handicap (G1) as the likely choice in the strongest field of older horses yet assembled in 2011 nationwide.
