Grass is Greener for Heavenly Landing in Marshua's River

By Ed Gray

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Heavenly Landing looked like a future stakes star from the moment she broke her maiden with a three-length victory at Saratoga on Aug. 23, 2009. It just took eight more starts and a switch from dirt to turf to realize her potential in Saturday’s $100,000 Marshua’s River (G3) at Gulfstream Park.

HALLANDALE BEACH - Live Oak Plantation’s 7-year-old German-bred mare Daveron won three straight turf stakes last year for trainer Graham Motion and Michel Jean Zerolo’s 4-year-old filly Louvakhova was impressive capturing the Frances A. Genter Stakes on Oct. 15 at Calder in her American debut for trainer Marty Wolfson.

Casse Looking Forward to Weekend Stakes at Gulfstream

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A cursory glance at the past-performance lines of Exclusive Love might lead handicappers to assume that she is a filly with a history of physical problems. The many gaps between her races, though, have nothing to do with soundness and everything to do with weather.
“She’s The Rainmaker,” said trainer Mark Casse, explaining Exclusive Love’s inconsistent racing schedule.
The 5-year-old daughter of Bernstein, weather permitting, is scheduled to run in Saturday’s $100,000 Marshua’s River (G3) over the Gulfstream Park turf course.
