Zero Rate Policy Matures in Sunshine State Stakes

Trainer Terri Pompay had a lot of confidence in Zero Rate Policy going into Sunday’s $60,000 Sunshine State Stakes at Gulfstream Park. The son of Trippi had shown a fondness for the racing surface by breaking his maiden in his last start over it on April 23 and demonstrated that he had returned to peak form with a four-length triumph at Monmouth Park in his most recent start. 

Wine Walk to Benefit Retired Thoroughbreds Wednesday, Dec. 7

 Gulfstream Park and The Village at Gulfstream Park will play host Wednesday, December 7 to a Wine Walk to benefit the Gulfstream Park Thoroughbred After-Care Program (www.gpaftercare.com).
For $10 per person, guests will be able to sample from five wine tasting stations and seven food stations throughout the Village, which is illuminated with holiday decorations for its nightly Festival of Lights show. 

Strike the Moon Drills 'Bullet' for Sugar Swirl Start

R. Larry Johnson’s 3-year-old Kentucky homebred filly Strike the Moon worked a sharp half-mile in 47 flat Saturday morning at Palm Meadows Training Center for trainer Michael Trombetta in preparation for a probable start in next Saturday’s $100,000 Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3) going six furlongs at Gulfstream Park.

Pompay Looks to 'Zero' in on Sunday Stakes

When Zero Rate Policy goes to post in Sunday’s $60,000 Sunshine State Stakes at Gulfstream Park, the 3-year-old gelding will have a lot going for him in the seven-furlong event for Florida-bred horses.
“He’s feeling good; his coat looks great; he’s happy; he loves this track,” said trainer Terri Pompay, listing the positives in the son of Trippi’s preparation for the Sunshine State. “I expect he’ll put in a really good effort.”
