Women's Handicapping Seminar And Florida Derby Preview April 1

Join the ladies of FATE (Females Are Thoroughbred Enthusiasts) April 1 between 2-7 p.m. in the Presidential Suite at Gulfstream Park for a handicapping seminar and an explanation of betting strategies for all the big races during Florida Derby Weekend.

Admission is free for females of all ages and levels of racing knowledge. 

Bowman's Causeway Set For Florida Derby Start

Trainer Patrick Biancone confirmed Friday that Bowman’s Causeway will run in the $1 million Florida Derby (G1) at Gulfstream Park on April 3.
The French-born trainer said his 3-year-old colt’s third-place finish in a mile allowance race on March 19 will set him up for a strong run in Gulfstream Park’s signature stakes, a major prep for the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on May 7.

Dialed In Breezes, Pleases Zito

A thick fog blanketed the backstretch of the track at Palm Meadows Thursday morning, obscuring the beginning of Dialed In’s half-mile workout. When the Nick Zito-trained colt came into view and powered past Miner’s Escape to finish seven lengths ahead of his workmate, it became quite clear that Dialed In was ready to run in the $1 million Florida Derby at Gulfstream on April 3.  

Breakfast At Gulfstream, Racing From Dubai

Some of the top thoroughbreds in the world, including South Florida residents Fly Down, Gio Ponti and I Want Revenge, will compete Saturday in the Dubai World Cup, an eight-race, $20 million program that fans will be able to watch and wager on at Gulfstream Park.

Kuehne Racing Stable’s 4-year-old Candyman E has won both of his starts at the Gulfstream Park meet this year and appears likely to be favored to make it three straight in Friday’s ‘two other than’ optional/allowance feature with jockey J.L. Castanon taking a return call for trainer Michael Mareina.
