Gulfstream Stars Among Favorites for Derby 138

When post positions were drawn Wednesday for the 138th Kentucky Derby, the list of favorites for the Run for the Roses at Churchill Downs looked very much like a stable list for Gulfstream Park or Palm Meadows.

Gulfsrteam Park Oaks (G2) winner Grace Hall is the 5-2 favorite for Friday's $1 million Kentucky Oaks. Broadway's Alibi, a winner of Gulfstream's Froward Gal (G2), is the co-second choice at 4-1.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – After watching Florida Derby (G1) winner Take Charge Indy work five furlongs easily Thursday morning at Palm Meadows in 1:00 2/5, trainer Pat Byrne lowered his binoculars as the colt was galloping out and said to a handful of onlookers on the clocker’s stand, “There you go. How do you like those apples?”
