Farthest Land Gets Second Start Back, Castellano Extends Lead

Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s 6-year-old gelding Furthest Land won a one-mile allowance race over the Gulfstream Park turf course on Mar. 5 in his first start since June, and will be among the choices in an open $66,400 allowance on Sunday over the course and distance, a race likely to yield a contender or two for the $100,000 Appleton Stakes (G3) to be run on Florida Derby Day, Sun., Apr. 3.

Olivares, Tackleberry Back For More In Gulfstream Park 'Cap

 In the past four months, Tackleberry has won five races including the Hal’s Hope (G3), Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship (G2) and the $500,000 Sunshine Millions Classic.

Those races were run at one mile, seven furlongs and 1 1/8 miles, respectively. 

Jackson Bend Goes For 'Gold' In Gulfstream Park Handicap

Belle Watling Gets Second Chance In Friday Allowance

 Belle Watling Syndicates’ 5-year-old Chilean-bred champion mare Belle Watling came from her native country to trainer Patrick Biancone with a big reputation - 13 victories in 16 starts. In her North American debut Feb. 20 at Gulfstream Park, she ran a respectable fourth in the $100,000 The Very One Stakes (G3) going 1 3/8th mile on the turf.
 

Florida Derby Golf Tournament Set For March 29

Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino announced today the first annual Florida Derby Golf Tournament will be held March 29 at Woodmont Country Club in Fort Lauderdale.
