Olivares, Tackleberry Back For More In Gulfstream Park 'Cap

 In the past four months, Tackleberry has won five races including the Hal’s Hope (G3), Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship (G2) and the $500,000 Sunshine Millions Classic.

Those races were run at one mile, seven furlongs and 1 1/8 miles, respectively.

Winless since completing a sweep of the Florida Stallion Series in the In Reality at Calder on Oct. 17, 2009, Jackson Bend will be going for gold again in Saturday’s $300,000 Gulfstream Park Handicap (G2)…literally. 

Belle Watling Gets Second Chance In Friday Allowance

 Belle Watling Syndicates’ 5-year-old Chilean-bred champion mare Belle Watling came from her native country to trainer Patrick Biancone with a big reputation - 13 victories in 16 starts. In her North American debut Feb. 20 at Gulfstream Park, she ran a respectable fourth in the $100,000 The Very One Stakes (G3) going 1 3/8th mile on the turf.

Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino announced today the first annual Florida Derby Golf Tournament will be held March 29 at Woodmont Country Club in Fort Lauderdale.

Retired jockey Jose Santos, who launched his Hall of Fame career in South Florida, will launch his just-released biography, ‘Above It All: The Turbulent Life of Jose Santos,’ at Gulfstream Park March 12.
