HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Grade 1 winners In Love and Lady Speightspeare, and Atone, fourth by less than two lengths last winter, were among four horses elevated from reserves to the main invitation list for the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1) Saturday, Jan. 28 at Gulfstream Park.
Wednesday was the second of three invitation lists for Pegasus World Cup Day, a program featuring eight stakes, seven graded, worth $5.3 million in purse earnings including the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) presented by Baccarat and $500,000 Pegasus Filly & Mare Turf Invitational (G1).
Cyberknife, Defunded, Proxy Still on Target for Jan. 28

There are no changes from the first invitation list for the 7th running of the 1 1/8-mile stakes for older horses that will headline a program with seven graded-stakes, including the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1), a 1 1/8-mile turf stakes for older horses, and the $500,000 Pegasus World Cup Filly & Mare Turf Invitational (G3), a 1 1/16-mile turf stakes for older fillies and mares.

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Jockey Leonel Reyes lit up the Gulfstream Park toteboard once again after guiding Drinking Problem to a 24-1 score in the first race Friday.
The Jose Garoffalo-trained 3-year-old, who broke his maiden under a $35,000 claiming tag, was Reyes’ sixth winner from 34 starters during the Championship Meet and boosted the veteran jockey’s average win payoff to a fat $45.60.

C2 Racing Stable LLC and La Milagrosa Stable LLC’s 4-year-old son of Race Day, one of 12 horses on the Pegasus World Cup’s list of invitees released Wednesday, was timed in 59.16 seconds, the fastest of eight workouts recorded at the distance.
