Far Bridge Seeks Repeat in Pan American (G3)

Multiple Grade 1 Winner Undefeated at Gulfstream

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – LSU Stable’s multiple Grade 1 winner Far Bridge will kick off his 6-year-old season Saturday at Gulfstream Park by running in his 13th consecutive graded stakes in the $225,000 Pan American (G3) presented by Rood & Riddle.

The 1 ½-mile turf event for 4-year-olds and up is part of a spectacular program featuring 10 stakes, five graded, worth $2.675 million in purses anchored by the $1 million Curlin Florida Derby (G1) presented by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms at Xalapa for 3-year-olds, the country’s premier Triple Crown prep celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Trained by Miguel Clement, Far Bridge has earned $2.4 million and is undefeated in four starts over Gulfstream’s course. He began his 2025 season by winning the Pan American by a neck over Corruption, who will be one of his nine opponents come Saturday. The field also includes 2025 McKnight (G3) winner Dashman and 2026 runner-up Padiddle, Mac Diarmida (G3) runner-up Echo Lane, and Zia Park Derby winner Brotha Keny.

“He’s doing very well. He’s spot on,” Clement said. “I think he’s the same exact level as he was this time last year when he won the Pan Am and he also won his comeback race in 2024 at Gulfstream [in an allowance optional claimer]. He’s four -for-four at Gulfstream so we’re optimistic – we’re bullish – and he’s going great.”

After winning the Pan Am last year Far Bridge won the Man o’War (G2), finished third in the Manhattan (G1), and won the Bowling Green (G2). He ended his 2025 campaign with a sixth-place finish in the Sword Dancer (G1) and a fourth-place finish in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic (G1).

“The Sword Dancer was a bit of a troubled trip, and then we probably ran him one time too many last year in the Joe Hirsch,” Clement said. “It was probably over the top and he should have had a break then. Nevertheless, when you have the Breeders’ Cup at the end of the line, it’s always tempting to go for one more swing. But we probably should have pulled the plug before the Joe Hirsch. So, we gave him plenty of time. He’s enjoyed his holiday.”

Far Bridge, a son of English Channel, holds a special place for Clement since it was the last horse his father, Christophe, saddled before passing away last May.

“He loved Far Bridge,” Clement said. “So Far Bridge has a very special place in our heart. He’s a very sentimental horse. He’s been great to us over the years, and it’s just our job to look after him because he’s a serious athlete.”

Far Bridge, 8-5, will be ridden by Flavien Prat.

Dashman (3-1) will be making his second start in seven months for trainer Brian Lynch. After winning the McKnight at Gulfstream in January of 2025, the 5-year-old finished seventh in August in the Kentucky Downs Preview Cup. He didn’t return to the races until a month ago when he finished fourth in an allowance optional claimer at 1 1/16 miles. Joel Rosario rides.

Corruption (7-2) begins his 5-year-old campaign for trainer Mark Casse in the Pan American after ending his 2025 season with a fourth-place finish in the River City (G3) in November at Churchill Downs. The gelding hasn’t finished worse than third in three starts at the distance. He breaks from the rail under jockey John Velazquez and could be the one to catch.

Brotha Keny (15-1) makes his turf debut after finishing 11th in January in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1). Echo Lane (8-1) enters off a second-place finish in the Mac Diarmida (G2) last month, and Il Siciliano (30-1) will be trying to close late under jockey Javier Castellano.
