HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is expected to grow to an estimated $75,000 when live racing resumes Friday at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for three racing days following a mandatory payout.
First race post time is 12:50 p.m.
Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9, featuring a strong mile-and-70-yard optional claiming allowance for 3-year-old and up on Tapeta in Race 8.
Ron Spatz-trained Private Thoughts, who won four races and finished second twice in six starts last year, will seek his first win of 2026 while making his second start off a layoff. The 5-year-old son of Neolithic, who will be ridden by Leonel Reyes, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in a field of seven that includes Bobby Dibona-trained Bail Us Out, a multiple graded stakes-placed son of Lookin At Lucky who will be making his first start since finishing second behind Private Thoughts in his 2025 finale. Diego Herrera, who has won seven times while riding multiple winners on each of the last three racing days, has the mount on the veteran gelding, who is rated second at 3-1 on the morning-line.
Victor Barboza Jr.-trained 3-year-old Modern Beauty has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite in a field of seven fillies and mares in Race 6, a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight on Tapeta. Modern Beauty set a pressured pace before settling for second in her May 2 debut at Tampa Bay Downs. Herbert Miller-trained Hello Poochy Lou, in the money in both her career starts, will be ridden for the first time by Herrera.
In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.
