Gulfstream’s Monday Mandatory Rainbow 6 Estimated Pool at $400,000

Three Races on the Turf – Free Past Performances on DRF

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park’s nine-race program Monday will feature a mandatory 20-cent Rainbow 6 with an estimated pool of $400,000 and a $1 Summer Sweep 5 featuring three races from Gulfstream and two from Parx.

The Summer Sweep Pick 5 features a 15-percent takeout and is retail only. The Rainbow 6 will begin with Race 4, an allowance optional claimer on the turf while the Summer Sweep Pick 5 begins with Race 6, a claiming race for 3-year-olds and up.

Race 4: A field of seven 3-year-olds and up go to post on the turf in this $70,000 allowance optional claimer at 1 1/16 mile. Team of Rivals (3-1) just broke his maiden at a mile on the turf for trainer Jimmy Toner. This very lightly raced 4-year-old son of American Pharoah continues to work well for his fourth start. Joseph Allen homebred has lots of upside. Paris Surprise (8-5) makes his second start for trainer Victor Barboza Jr. (22-percent at the meet) after finishing second last time out on the grass. Junction Road is 2-1-2 in his last five and goes for his first win on the turf in his eighth try.

Race 5: Fillies and mares go five furlongs on the Tapeta in this $10,000 claimer for non-winners of two. The field of 10 has three coming off maiden victories – Mindful Grace (6-1, Jose D’Angelo), Facet (8-2, Heather Smullen) and Khozy Me Up (6-1, Amzadali Jehaludi). Kate the Smate (5-2) just missed last time out in these conditions for trainer Bobby Dibona.

Race 6: Just six go to post in this bottom claimer for 3-year-olds and up and Cross Haste is even-money in the morning line for leading apprentice Pedro Pena and trainer Barboza, who claimed this one July 4 for the $6,250 tag. Kinetic Stone and Holy Stick break outside the favorite in this six-furlong event.

Race 7: Barboza keeps rolling along in this allowance optional claimer at five furlongs on the turf event for fillies and mares with 9-5 favorite Great Venezuela, who is 2-1-3 at this distance in seven tries. The 5-year-old mare has won nine of 20 starts and more than $450,000. Sunglow goes out first time for trainer Joe Orseno after spending 2025 in California with John Sadler. The 4-year-old daughter of No Nay Never makes her first start since September. After racing in Ireland in her first two starts, the filly is 2-1-2 in the U.S.

Race 8: This $10,000 claimer at a mile on the main track for 3-year-olds and up drew a wide-open field of seven Zozan (8-5) drops in company and off the turf for trainer Reynaldo Yanez. Brooklyn Guy also drops in company after running fourth in a starter optional claimer with a $20,000 claiming price. Antillean goes out first time for trainer Herbert Miller, who is 44 percent off the claim.

Race 9: The sequence concludes on the turf with eight 3-year-olds and up going 1 1/16 miles with a claiming tag of $17,500. Megacles (9-5) and Supreme Honor (5-2) both enter off runner-up finishes on the turf in the same conditions. I Wish You Love (5-1) broke his maiden on the turf last out for Barboza. Chalky White tries the turf again off a bullet work and draws the inside.
