Gulfstream’s Royal Palm Meet Wraps with Mandatory Monday

Nine Race Program, Jockey Title on the Line

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park’s Royal Palm Meet concludes Monday with a nine-race program, including three maiden special weight races, and a mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6.

First race post is 12:20 ET. The Rainbow 6 pool is estimated to be approximately $400,000.

The meet conclusion will also determine leading jockey honors. Samy Camacho and Diego Herrera are neck and neck going into the final day. Saffie Joseph Jr. has run away with his 16th consecutive Gulfstream training title.

The Sunshine Meet, highlighted by 14 stakes including the ‘Win & You’re In’ Princess Rooney (G3), begins Friday.

There will also be a Super Hi 5 carryover in Monday’s final race of $5,921.51.

The Rainbow 6:

Race 4: A field of eight go in this starter optional claimer for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/16 mile on the turf. Jayhawk (5-1) steps up in company off the $20,000 claim and goes for his fourth consecutive victory on the turf. Beau Chapman is the new trainer. They could all be chasing the son of Cross Traffic. Bail Us Out (2-1), trained by Bobby Dibona, who formerly trained Jayhawk, goes for his second consecutive victory. Degree of Risk (5-2) drops in company after failing to hit the board in his last three starts.

Race 5: This six-furlong, maiden special weight event for Florida breds drew a field of seven. King Henry, trained by Antonio Sano and ridden by Camacho, is the 5-2 favorite off a third-place finish against similar in his debut June 20. Golden Joshua (5-1), ridden by Herrera and trained by David Van Winkle, makes his debut off a ‘bullet’ half-mile work. Mane Affair (3-1), a son of Practical Joke, makes his debut for Chapman and Miguel Vasquez.

Race 6: A field of 10 3-year-olds and up go a mile on the turf for a $17,500 tag. Rashid (5-2), a son of Kitten’s Joy, just missed last time out on the surface and distance and in the same company. Act a Fool (3-1) goes first time off the claim for Dibona and Vasquez (24-percent together). Dimanche Gras (8-1) gets Camacho after winning against lesser on Tapeta.

Race 7: Six 3-year-old Florida breds go to post in this mile maiden special weight event and Mediterranean Sea, a $1 million purchase by Tagermeen Racing and trained by Joseph, will be the odds-on favorite. The son of Into Mischief was third in his debut here July 19 sprinting. Gregarious (5-2) returns after finishing second in his debut during the Championship Meet behind the Brad Cox-trained Autobahn. Salt of the Earth, trained by Mark Casse, returns from Colonial Downs. The son of Curlin has not finished better than fifth in three starts. Marilyn’s Mate draws the rail.

Race 8: A field of 10 3-year-olds and up go a mile on the main track for a $6,250 price. Copperlite (8-5) hasn’t raced since June of 2025 but drops in company and gets Herrera for trainer Nolan Ramsey. Wannabeeloved has been consistent at this level for trainer Amador Sanchez and enters off a win around two turns on Tapeta.

Race 9: Back on the turf for the Rainbow 6 conclusion with an allowance optional claimer going 5 ½ furlongs with a field of nine. It’s a wide-open event with Neodera (3-1) the tepid morning-line choice with a win last time out going five furlongs on the turf. Laila Bella Girl (7-2) beat Florida breds on the turf in July before finishing fourth on the Tapeta last out. Royally Blue, who is 4-3-3 in her last 12 starts on turf or Tapeta, draws the rail. Amasia returned from a nine-month layoff to break her maiden Aug. 8 for trainer Jena Antonucci.

The jackpot pool in the Rainbow 6 is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence. The Royal Palm Meet concludes Monday with an eighth consecutive mandatory payout.
