HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool yielded multiple payoffs of $263.68 Sunday at Gulfstream Park.

Dominican Pirate ($11.60) found room late to capture the Race 9 finale, a claiming event for maidens 3 and older on the all-weather Tapeta course, to complete the winning 2-2-4-2-8-4 combination. There were 1,107 winning tickets.

Other winners in the sequence were Forgotten About ($8) in Race 4, Hands of Time ($3.20) in Race 5, Rose of Riyadh ($9.80) in Race 6, Roger That Dana ($4) in Race 7 and Fourth and Central ($3.80) in Race 8.

A total of $342,666 was bet into the Rainbow 6 Sunday on top of an $18,000.87 carryover from Saturday’s Princess Rooney (G3) program, for a grand total of $360,667.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

The fall Sunshine Meet resumes with a nine-race program Friday starting at 12:20 p.m. The feature comes in Race 8, an optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares 3 and up going seven furlongs on the main track where 3-year-old Jestina chases a fifth consecutive win for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. against eight rivals including 2024 FSS My Dear Girl winner My Denysse.
