HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Father’s Day will be celebrated Sunday at Gulfstream Park with a mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved Saturday for the second racing day following last Sunday’s $110,007 jackpot hit. Sunday’s mandatory jackpot pool is expected to grow to an estimated $500,000.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9, featuring the U.S. debut of Jose D’Angelo-trained Es Aristocratico in a six-furlong $70,000 allowance for 3-year-olds and up carded as Race 8. The 5-year-old veteran runner has won 10 of 21 races while finishing in the top three 19 times. Es Aristocratico will face six rivals, including Joe Orseno-trained Latch the Hatch, a back-to-back winner prior to a recent tough-beat second, and Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Practically Dark, who will not be equipped with the blinkers he has worn in his last five starts.

The Rainbow 6 sequence will be kicked off by a mile $8000 claiming race for three year-olds in Race 4. The eight-horse field for non-winners of two races lifetime is headed by Jena Antonucci-trained Taparino, who came up just short while finishing second on the drop-down to Sunday’s level last time out.

Kathleen O’Connell-trained Coded Elegance, who recovered from early crowding to finish third last time out, is the 7-5 morning-line favorite for Race 5, a 1 1/16-mile maiden event for $12,500 claiming fillies and mares on Tapeta. Repole Stable’s Silly Risk is rated second at 9-5 coming off a troubled third in her first start for D’Angelo and second career start. The daughter of Quality Road will be equipped with blinkers for the first time.

If Not for Luck will seek back-to-back wins in Race 6, a six-furlong starter allowance for three-year-olds and up on Tapeta. The son of Neolithic is rated at 2-1 on the morning-line for his third start off the claim by trainer Beau Chapman. Andrea Puckett-trained Nic’s Bro, third behind If Not for Luck last time, defeated that rival during the Championship Meet.

Nolan Ramsey-trained Longbranch Lou will seek his fourth victory in his last five starts in Race 7, a mile-and-70-yard starter allowance for 3-year-olds and up on Tapeta. The last-out winner is the 9-5 morning-line favorite in a field of 10.

The Rainbow 6 sequence will be closed out by a $12,000 maiden claimer for fillies and mares going 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta in Race 9. Victor Barboza Jr.-trained Come On Poppi, who finished third after her momentum was stopped by traffic in the stretch last time out, is favored on the morning line at 2-1.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

NOTES: Jockey Diego Herrera, whose streak of multi-win days was stopped at seven Friday by a one-win day, got back on track at Gulfstream Saturday with two wins. The up-and-coming 22-year-old jockey, who ventured to Gulfstream from Santa Anita in late March, found the winners circle back-to-back aboard Western Shaft ($5.60) in Race 5 and Spicy Taco ($14.60) in Race 3.

Jockey Leonel Reyes doubled aboard Sofocies ($7.20) in Race 1 and Travel Happy ($4.40) in Race 7. Rajiv Maragh also rode a pair of winners, Wannabeloved ($6) in Race 3 and Bettera ($32.20) in Race 9.

Trainer Joe Orseno saddled a pair of winners, including Winplaceandshow ($5.40), who captured the featured $100,000 Azalea in Race 10, and Ez Orb Not ($5.80) in Race 8.
